Our Year 7 Program
Empowering each individual to thrive
Starting Year 7 is a pivotal milestone in a child’s education. Students prepare to expand on the knowledge they have from Junior School and dive into new and exciting areas of their schooling to discover their unique passions and areas of interest. It is our goal as Sacred Heart educators to facilitate an individualised education and provide a supportive environment to allow each student to flourish.
Academic Independence
Year 7 students begin their Senior School learning in specialised classes to prepare them to choose their electives in later years.
Extension and Enrichment Opportunities
We know at KRB that each student is unique and special, and we provide an abundance of opportunities for students to grow and exceed in their area of interest. For this reason, we provide a variety of accelerated enrichment programs for students to participate in unique opportunities including:

Academic Care
Our Academic Care model is based around Positive Psychology in an education setting. Our Pastoral Care Team, in partnership with families, provides students with a program to develop grit, resilience and persistence within our students to support their emotional, spiritual and academic growth on an individual basis.
Sport
Sport is an integral part of the curriculum at KRB. Our MTC area includes facilities including an indoor 25m heated pool, tennis courts, outdoor basketball, netball and hockey courts as well an indoor multipurpose center including a dance studio. Students have the opportunity to join social and competitive programs that suit their appropriate levels and interest.
Music and Drama
We provide a great variety of opportunities for students to explore different areas of Music and Drama. Whether it includes individual instrument or dramatic performances, group orchestra, choir and drama or students competing in local and state competitions. We ensure each student is placed in a program to allow them to grow and succeed in their endeavors. KRB holds an annual musical performance, hosted by NIDA to allow students to participate in school performances and hold backend performance management positions. In 2022, KRB students will perform and operate the musical performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Outdoor Education
At KRB, we are blessed with an extensive campus that allows us to hold on-campus outdoor education as well as off-campus school camps. Some of our on-campus activities include Sydney Harbour kayaking, paddle boarding, and abseiling. Our Outdoor Education Program teaches our students an awareness of their surroundings, as well as fundamental skills in survival and teamwork.
