Sandwiches and Song 2021 was celebrated this year at a virtual Zoom event held on Monday, 18 October.
The event was hosted by Principal Maureen Ryan and Georgina Senes (SCA President) and attended by 35 Alumnae who graduated from Kincoppal and Rose Bay in the years between 1940 and 1970.
John Mooney, KRB Director of Mission, prepared a liturgy of prayers and reflections with the theme of “Alumna – The one who has been nourished”. At the conclusion of the liturgy, the attendees were guided to three breakout rooms where Alumnae had the opportunity to talk to women from their school year groups. There was much excitement and cheery conversation as we marvelled at the benefits of modern technology ! After Maureen and Georgina had visited each year group, we joined together as a whole group once again.
The zoom event enabled us to be joined by Alumnae in metropolitan Sydney, regional NSW and Colleen Pask (McDonough RB 65) even joined us from California !
We thank Sister Esmey Herscovitch RSCJ, Fran Scully Power (RB 65), Gai Suttie (RB 64) and Sister Mary Shanahan RSCJ who each read a prayer during the liturgy and to Mark Stubley, KRB Head of Music who led us in song as we sang the school songs of Kincoppal, Rose Bay and “Les Promesses de Sacre Coeur”.
