Reunions

Rose Bay Class of 1963 – 60 year reunion

After much planning, the Rose Bay Class of 1963 elected to have their 60 year Reunion in Bowral . This was the popular choice, as many of the class were from, and still live in, rural NSW.  Others had attended Kerever Park in nearby Burradoo as boarders in the Junior School.

The Class of 1963 was a small class, so to have 17 people attend was wonderful sized group ! Most people stayed overnight, so there was plenty of time to catch up in small and larger groups.

The main event was lunch at an excellent restaurant in Bowral which opened on the day especially for the Reunion.   Afterwards, most of the group adjourned to Loretto Long’s home.  There was a lot of reminiscing, and much laughter, as everyone recalled special memories.  Former classmates who had passed away, and those you were unable to attend on the day, were also remembered.

The Rose Bay Class of 1963 agreed that there is still a strong bond between everyone, and such a great Reunion only strengthened these sentiments.

Kincoppal Class of 1968 – 55 year reunion

In November, 2023 the Kincoppal class of 1968 shared a wonderful 55 year reunion at the Kirribilli Yacht Squadron.  Ladies travelled from country New South Wales, Queensland and Rosemay “Bud” Johnson flew in from Seattle, USA.  There was much laughter and wonderful reminiscing about our shared experiences so many years ago including our formation of the school newsletter, “Kincoppal Echoes”, singing Mamas and Papas’ songs in our common room and sneaking paddle pops back to school in our suspenders !

Our placemats on the day depicted scenes of our school life including our drama productions of “Candy Pink” and “Christ in the Concrete City” for the yearly Genesian school festival.  These plays were produced so spectacularly by Mrs May Puzey.  We chatted about many of the Sacre Coeur nuns who were such an integral part of our education and felt grateful that “the bonds of our Cor Unum” are still so strong for us today.  Finally, we remembered our classmates who have passed away; Debbie Malouf, Virginia Hill, Michelle Dorsen and Janis Lander plus our other friends with whom we have lost touch.  We look forward to our 60th reunion in 2028.

Class of 1977 – 45 year reunion

The KRB Class of 1977 recently held a very happy and relaxed 45th year reunion in the Drawing Room of the Royal Sydney Golf Club.

After covid lockdowns, it was a such a treat to have 36 classmates from regional NSW, Brisbane and Sydney come along to a relaxed evening of drinks and canapes to catch up on missed news, stories, hugs and laughs.  Six candles were lit throughout the evening to remember those classmates sadly no longer with us.  Our room also gave us an unexpected backdrop view of the school and along with a slideshow of old school photos we all enjoyed being taken down memory lane once again.

A delicious brunch was held the following morning at Lisa & John Ballhausen’s beautiful home with 22 classmates & some partners enjoying a few more hours of catching up.

Lisa Ballhausen and Kerrie Gaynor thoroughly enjoyed planning the night for such a fabulous, keen group of classmates.

Rose Bay Class of 1964 – 60 year reunion

The Rose Bay Class of 1964 recently celebrated their 60 year school reunion.

Twenty ladies gathered for a beautiful luncheon at the Royal Sydney Golf Club.   It was wonderful to be able to welcome so many classmates who had travelled from regional areas, interstate and from overseas.   Trish Johnson (Bradford), who travelled from Texas, presented the group with a special book that she had collated of school memories and photos, updates on people’s lives and musings over the years.  It was received with great thanks and appreciation and will be enjoyed over many cups of tea !

A quote in Trish’s book which resonated with the group was

“ You can go through life and make new friends every year, every month practically, but there was never any substitute for those friendships of childhood that survive into adult years.  Those are the ones in which we are bound to one another with hoops of steel”.

Class of 1984 – 40 year reunion

It was fantastic to have a group of 40 ladies gather together fort the Class of 1984, 40 year reunion on Saturday, 17 August.

Sas Stein (Gale) organised the reunion at the 18 Footers Restaurant in Double Bay and it was a glorious, sunny Sydney day to welcome our overseas and regional classmates.

Thank you to all who travelled to Sydney and to Sas for organising the reunion.  It was a great catch up with many wonderful KRB memories and laughter shared with the group.
