KRB Class of 2009 – 15 year school reunion
We were thrilled to host the Class of 2009 at KRB over the Alumnae Weekend for their 15 year school reunion !
The group were impressed at the building additions to the school including the Maureen Tudehope Centre, Swimming pool and Gym facilities and the Yr 12 Learning Hub. They were particularly impressed with the incredible transformation of the old swimming pool into a leisure and learning decked space.
It was great to hear all about your careers in Finance, Insurance, Management Consulting, Health, Information Technology and Commerce and thank you to the group for generously offering to participate in the KRB Connect Mentoring Program.
Class of 2004 – 20 year reunion
We were thrilled to welcome back to KRB the Class of 2004 over the Alumnae Weekend for their 20 year reunion since graduating from KRB.
We welcomed a huge turnout of ladies including some who are parents of children already attending Barat Burn. For others, it was their first visit back to KRB since graduating !
Lots of reminiscing and regaling of the fun times had in the boarding school, sports competitions, PE sessions in the old swimming pool and Yr 12 school lessons in the Katherine Robertson classroom centre.
After canapes and champagne on the Harbour Terrace, the ladies then regrouped in Double Bay for a casual dinner and drinks.
Thank you to Olivia Greenberg for organising the event.
Class of 2014 – 10 year reunion
The Alumnae weekend concluded with the ten year reunion celebrations for the class of 2014.
It was wonderful to welcome back to KRB this year group who marveled at the changes that have taken place at KRB since their graduation.
Several ladies in the year group have recently been married in the KRB Chapel with several more scheduled to be married in the next year. For those who had not been back to school since graduation, they enjoyed the beautiful vistas from the Harbour Terrace with champagne and canapes.
Thank you to Georgie Ringler, who travelled from Melbourne, for organizing this reunion.
Class of 1994 – 30 year reunion
The Clas of 1994 had a brilliant 30 year long lunch reunion on Saturday, 12 October at the Woollahra Hotel. Forty girls attended on the day, travelling from all over Australia to be in attendance.
Organiser Jane King reflected … “There were lots of big smiles and laughs and it was great to spend the afternoon sharing fabulous memories of our times together at KRB. We commented on how lucky we were to have a brilliant year who have remained so close for all these years and how lucky we were to have attended Kincoppal-Rose Bay. Everyone is keen to catch up more often !
Class of 1989 – 35 year reunion
The Class of 1989 marked their 35 year reunion with a lively lunch at the Bellevue Hotel on 12 October 2024.
The reunion was a memorable day, reuniting old friends for an afternoon filled with joy. The room was brimming with laughter as classmates reminisced about their school days and shared life updates. During the celebration, the ladies paused to remember and light candles in memory of their dear classmates Nikki Pietsch and Jenny Green to ensure their spirits continue to shine brightly in everyone’s hearts.
Everything flowed seamlessly thanks to the efforts of organiser, Jacinta Spurrett, providing everyone wonderful memories to cherish until the next reunion in five years time !
Class of 1974 – 50 year reunion
The Class of 1974 recently reunited and celebrated their 50 year reunion since graduation from Kincoppal Rose Bay.
The celebrations commenced with an informal tour of the school. For those who had not visited KRB since their school days, it was a wonderful experience to visit the building additions and developments and reminisce with stories of the fun had in both the day and boarding schools.
Later in the afternoon, the Class regrouped for drinks and canapes on the verandah at the RSYS Kirribilli with a wonderful view down the harbour to KRB.
There were a formidable 35 attendees and everyone was in fine form. Conversations have certainly moved on from careers, mortgages and kids to retirement and “happy ever after” plans.
The reunion was so enjoyed by all, the group might not wait for five years for the next gathering !
Many thanks to organisers Tess Petzold (Feehan) and Susie Parrelli (Culbert)
Class of 1979 – 45 year reunion
The Class of 1979 recently celebrated their 45 year reunion at the Tilbury Hotel in Sydney. There was a record attendance with classmates travelling from regional NSW, Canberra, Melbourne, Tasmania, Queensland, Perth and Italy.
Suzie Daniel (Leary) welcomed classmates to the venue with some heartwarming words …
“In 1966, a very small group of little girls aged four and five started at Kincoppal together and four of them are with us today; Serena Sanderson, Mary McGlinchey, Lisa Clifford and Maryann O’Neil. They are our originals who set the fabulous, fun and loving tone for our class of 1979 almost 60 years ago.
From there on, we entered at various stages; Barat Burn, Rose Bay, KRB and into the boarding school. We were randomly thrown together and grafted onto one another to various degrees. Some of us bonded forever, some more loosely but no matter what, we all share a history: A formative history.
We knew each other before we knew our work colleagues, our partners and before we knew our children. In some ways, we knew each other before we knew ourselves !
And as time flows on and we’ve lost mothers, fathers, siblings, nieces and nephews, it makes having people in our lives such as our long-ago school friends who knew these people too, and what they meant to us, all the more precious. You’re not going to meet someone for the first time next week who can say “you have your mothers hands’, you have your father’s determination or your sister’s sense of fun”.
The classmates remembered their friends that have passed away since school days; Michelle Greville, Fiona Black, Gay McLaughlin and since their last reunion, their friends Caroline Morgan, Maryanne Ryan and Edwina Kennedy. Special mention was made of Edwina who was the “class glue” who loved the class reunions and had organised many of them over the years.
Thank you to Suzie and the organising committee of Louise Humphreys (O’Sullivan), Caroline Blackmore (Furlong), Elizabeth Knight and Claire Allen (Pederson).
Kincoppal Class of 1964 – 60 year reunion
In October 2024, the Kincoppal Class of 1964 celebrated their 60 year reunion with 19 Alumnae gathering for a luncheon at Pier One Hotel, Dawes Point overlooking our beautiful harbour.
The weather was perfect and we spent many hours reminiscing over our years together with much laughter and stories some of us had long forgotten. The school colours of blue and gold were well represented with floral and other decorations. Also, a few old school hats, badges, memorabilia and photo albums added to the atmosphere.
We ended the day on a high with the singing of our school song and looking forward to another reunion in 5 years time !
