Outdoor Education at KRB

Kincoppal-Rose Bay (KRB) is proud to offer students an immersive educational experience that extends beyond the classroom. Our school believes in a deep respect for our land and the community values that are at the core of a Sacred Heart education. Therefore, we encourage students to venture outdoors to explore and work together to find ways in which we can further strengthen our understanding and appreciation for our world and those around us.

Beyond the typical notion of academics, KRB gives students the chance to participate in outdoor programs such as outdoor education, camp and Wildtime, which teach awareness of our surroundings, as well as fundamental skills in survival and teamwork. Students work together to care for the land while achieving goals in an outdoor setting. Our unique campus location offers students the opportunity to explore the outdoors on our own doorstep, in our harbourside private bushland area with direct access to the harbour beaches.

Our outdoor learning sees students step outside their comfort zones on adventures that encourage them to continuously embrace challenges. They learn about the land and how to care for it, while also gaining valuable survival knowledge and building on skills such as teamwork, communication and collaboration. The result of outdoor education comes in the form of resilience, where students have endeavoured on an adventure of self-discovery and reflection. Through KRB’s outdoor programs, they learn more about their peers, our world and themselves.
