Brooke Leavens – New KRB Tennis coach

Our new Head of Tennis at KRB is Brooke Leavens, an alumna from the Class of 1997 who began her KRB journey at Barat-Burn.   Brooke started playing national tennis at the age of ten.  She went on to win the Tildesley Shield in Year 12 and was the first and only student from KRB to win the singles event in history of the Sheild.  She also qualified for and played in the Junior Australian Open at Melbourne Park and ranked 7th in Australia.  After leaving KRB, she received a tennis scholarship to Brigham Young University (BYU), a NCAA Division 1 US College.  “The College experience was an amazing one, the travel, the training, the sponsorships and the friendships formed were second to none.”

Brooke has had extensive experience running tennis programs for schools and is excited to be back at her old school hoping to ignite the same passion she has for the game with the younger generation.

The new KRB Tennis Program will feature elite coaches from Royal Sydney, International ATP tennis players and coaches from neighboring Private schools . The program will offer private lessons, group lessons, Tildesley Shield training squads, IPSHA training, Performance squads and team practice.  Our Junior school students will have opportunities to compete in competitions against other schools to better prepare them for competitive high school tennis.  The approach to tennis in this new program is holistic and  includes specialized fitness training and conditioning.  Tennis camps will be held when interest piques for this lifelong sport.

“I am very excited to be revamping the program to create a nurturing, supportive and highly professional approach.  Students will be fostered to achieve excellence through high expectations and access to resources and support.”
