Jacinta Tynan – Alumna Author

Jacinta Tynan graduated as the Head Girl of KRB in 1987. Jacinta is a journalist, former news presenter, columnist and author – and mother of two young boys.  She is also an Ambassador for Raise Foundation and The Warrior Woman Foundation.

Jacinta has recently published her fifth book, The Single Mother’s Social Club: Inspiration and advice on embracing single parenthood (Murdoch Books).

The Single Mother’s Social Club – inspiration and advice on embracing single parenthood – is part memoir, part manifesto for single parents.

Based on her own experiences and interviews with dozens of single mothers and experts, Jacinta Tynan shares the best advice for thriving when you have to manage parenting on your own, or at least part of the time.

Single parent households are the fastest growing family group in Australia, almost 80 percent with women at the helm, yet the stigma persists.

The Single Mother’s Social Club is the first book of its kind celebrating single mothers while offering expert advice and wisdom. The book aims to shift this single mother stereotype by presenting these women as they are – empowered and content, who’ve made considered life choices to improve their lives and those of their children.
