KRB Country Weekend

After the hugely successful P & F Country event held at Ardlethan in 2021, a second KRB Country weekend was recently held at Tamworth on 1-2 April.

The event was held to celebrate KRB’s strong country connections.

Welcome Drinks were organized at the Tudor Hotel, in Tamworth, on Friday evening with 100 people attending a luncheon at Dungowan Station, Dungowan (25km south east of Tamworth) on Saturday, 2 April.

The event was attended by current parents with an invitation also extended to Alumnae and past parents within a 200km radius of Tamworth.  Maureen Ryan (Principal), Anne-Maree Bennett (Director of Boarding), Carrie Scanlan (Director of Students), Angela Thomas (Director of Pedagogy), Sara Daff (Director of Global Education), Victoria Dalton (Alumnae relations Co-ordinator) and Sue Lancaster (Boarding Engagement Co-ordinator) also attended.  Sue travelled from Bourke where she had been attending the Isolated Children’s Parents Association (ICPA) 50th Anniversary Conference.

We were blessed with a beautiful, sunny and warm day which was enjoyed by all in the converted wool shed at Dungowan Station.  Guests sat at three long tables where we feasted on local produce and sampled wines, curated by the owners of Dungowan Station, from a nearby vineyard.  Local musician, Jarred Scott, entertained the crowd as we watched the sun set from the verandah before travelling back into Tamworth by bus.

Our thanks go to Rebecca Vass (P & F President), Leisl White (Clubb, 86) and Prue Hannon and the entire P & F team for organizing such a wonderful event.
