Reunions

Class of 1952 – 70 Year School Reunion

The Rose Bay Class of 1952 recently gathered to celebrate their 70 year anniversary since graduation.  The two day celebration began with attendance at the annual KRB Sandwiches and Song Event held on Monday, 24 October where the group enjoyed Morning tea, a liturgy in the KRB Chapel and lunch in the Maureen Tudehope Centre (MTC).  Sitting together at the MTC, the year group enjoyed being back on school grounds and receiving special mention and congratulations from Principal, Marueen Ryan in her welcoming speech.  The next day, a very special, celebratory luncheon was organised by Pam Point and Jan Payten at the Kirribilli Yacht Squadron.  The ladies laughed and reminisced over cherished school memories including photos from when some of the group commenced at Rose Bay as preschoolers.  A commemorative card was prepared to mark the celebration and to remember those from the Class of 1952 who had passed away or who were unable to attend.  Much fun and laughter was had and it was a wonderful celebration of over 70 years of friendship.

Classes of 1956 and 1957 – 65 Year School Reunion

The Classes of 1956 and 1957 share a close bond and held a combined reunion at the Sandwiches and Song Event in October.   It was wonderful to sit together in groups at the luncheon and reminisce over fond school memories.   Thank you to Tina Henty who also hosted a gathering at her home.  It was wonderful to welcome Carol Curr (Makim) from Queensland and friends from regional NSW.  Thank you to Penny Reardon (Boys) and Kate Perkins (Hayes) for their fantastic efforts in getting everyone together!

Class of 1972 – 50 Year School Reunion

In November, the Class of 1972 met to celebrate their 50th year since graduation from KRB.  The Luncheon was held at the Kirribilli Club with 30 ladies in attendance.  Photos, emails and memories were received from those who were unable to attend on the day and shared with the group.  The group welcomed Ko Iwata (Sekino) who flew to Sydney from Japan for the reunion.  As a pre-cursor to the event and to refamiliarize Ko with Sydney’s beautiful Harbour, those who were available walked the Heritage Walk and picnicked at Strickland house together a few days before the event.  Many thanks to Patty Zancanaro (Butta) and Annie Green for organising the two events.

Class of 1981 – 40 Year School Reunion

The Class of 1981 recently celebrated their 40 + 1 year anniversary since graduating from Kincoppal Rose Bay.  The reunion celebration was hosted by Julie Dutaillis (Ballhausen).  There was a great turnout with 30 highly excited school friends, who had travelled from near and far, joining the celebration.  The afternoon featured a delicious sit down lunch, toasts to absent friends, lots of bubbles and much singing and dancing.  A highlight of the afternoon was a visit from the much-loved KRB Maths teacher, Sue Rae.

Class of 1987 – 35 Year School Reunion

The Class of 1987 celebrated their 35 year anniversary since graduation in November at the home of Sandra Miranda.  With over 50 ladies in attendance, everyone met mid-afternoon and enjoyed canapes, and a dinner together on a glorious sunny day in Sydney.  Classmates travelled to Sydney from Young and Holbrook and towns further afield such as Deniliquin and Toowoomba.  It was especially wonderful to welcome international guests Paige Doerner and Wendy Lee who travelled from Whistler and Dubai respectively!  Rosie Macken designed the Reunion invitation and created special name tags which were slipped onto the wine stems of each attendees’ glasses with personalized Triva notes and questions.  Thank you to Susan Moore (Smith) and Melissa Vereker for organising the event.  And as always, we remember our friend Allanah Stedman RIP, forever missed yet always in our hearts.

Class of 1991 Boarders – 30 year reunion

In September, the Boarders of the KRB Class of 1991 gathered for a reunion at the Paddington Hotel.  Over 30 alumnae attended, travelling from all five states, and even New Zealand, to join the celebration.  Lunch and lifelong connections were celebrated well into the afternoon on a glorious spring day.

Class of 1992 – 30 year reunion

We had 45 girls attend the Woollahra Hotel in October, travelling from interstate, regional Australia and overseas from Tokyo.  The night was filled with laughter and reminiscing of our wonderful days at Kincoppal, it was so lovely to catch up again after 30 years and we can’t wait for our next one.

Class of 2002 – 20 year School Reunion

We recently welcomed the graduating Class of 2002 to KRB to celebrate their 20 year reunion.  The afternoon began with a tour of the school; visiting the Chapel, Chapel Square, Classrooms, Boarding School and the Yr 12 Learning Hub.  The girls marvelled at all the changes at the school since they left in 2002.  The rain stayed away and the sun shone as the girls celebrated their reunion on the Harbour Terrace with champagne and canapes.  It was wonderful to welcome friends from regional NSW and as far away as Los Angeles.  The girls then adjourned to the Watsons Bay Hotel for dinner and drinks.  Thank you to Eloise Robertson and Alice Adler (Malouf) for organsing the event.

Class of 2017 – 5 year Reunion

True to form, the KRB Class of 2017 never does anything by halves – and our five-year reunion on 3 December was no exception.

We had an amazing turnout, with 70 girls in attendance, including Chloe Park, who flew in from Singapore for 36 hours especially for the event — a testament to how our tight-knit cohort and the friendships within it have stood the test of time. It was so lovely to catch up over a trusty KRB cupcake and those stunning Harbour Terrace views, and great to hear about everyone’s adventures and successes so far. A big thank you to everyone who came, and to Victoria Dalton, Mary Cook, Georgina Senes, and Phoebe Malouf for hosting such a special event.
