Sandwiches and Song 2024

On Monday, 11 November we welcomed over 80 ladies to Kincoppal-Rose Bay for our much loved, annual Sandwiches and Song Event.

Alumna who had graduated from Kincoppal, Rose Bay and Kincoppal-Rose Bay fifty years or more ago began the day with a morning tea in Chapel Square.  The Ladies were joined by the KRB Student Leadership team of 2024-2025 and served refreshments by our Sacre Coeur Committee before moving into the Chapel for a special liturgy.

The liturgy celebrated the joys of friendship and prayers were read for our Church, world leaders, our Sacred Heart family, for ill and deceased RSCJ, alumnae family members and friends.  As the event was held on Remembrance Day, the Espacio led by Deputy Principal Liz Clark, focused on remembering and honoring all those members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

A beautiful luncheon was then served in the Maureen Tudehope Centre (MTC) where Alumna were entertained by the Junior School Choir expertly conducted by Mark Stubley – KRB Head of Music.

Alumna Grace Hardman (2021) recipient of the Mary Shanahan RSCJ OAM Scholarship, spoke of myriad opportunities provided to her upon receiving this scholarship and how grateful she was to be able to complete her KRB education.  It is the generous contributions made by our Alumnae that give others the opportunity to attend KRB and receive a Sacred Heart Education.

The afternoon was spent conversing amongst friends and sharing stories of school days.   There were several year groups who were celebrating significant reunion years and were seated together and gifted a beautiful KRB monogramed cup and saucer set.  Granddaughters of the attendees were invited to share in coffee and treats after the luncheon.

A raffle, with fabulous prizes was organised and drawn by Josephine Giaouris and the SCA committee with SCA merchandise also being available to purchase on the day.  All proceeds from the sale of the KRB branded SCA merchandise is directed towards funding an SCA Bursary which allows the daughter of an Alumna the opportunity to attend KRB
